The following media bibliography is included for the
benefit of pastors looking for ways to communicate to a new generation. We have
used each one at different times and have found them to be valuable partners in
ministry. Look at their sites and see if they can’t enhance what you are doing
at your place.
Measurably, the Truth Project is one of the most
significant training segments we have ever done for our congregation! To have
people asking themselves “Do I really believe what I say I really
believe?” is precious awareness! To have them hear God say something is
evil and then have them see it as evil is priceless transformation! It
takes some effort to get through the requirements of hosting the Truth
Project—but the people you serve will not be the same for your energies and
investment!

If you aren’t running the Alpha Course (or the companion
Marriage Course) at your church, you simply haven’t understood the underlying
concepts of Alpha! “It’s cherry flavored cough syrup!” It takes people on a
thirteen week journey in basic Christianity while modeling early church
relational living and emptying people out of some of the syncretic poisons they
have taken in! What sold me was a clip in the training video where a young lady
raises her hand to ask, “What should I do when they find out?” “Find out what?”
“Find out that I’ve only been saved six weeks and that I’m training to lead a
group!” Anything that enables and empowers new converts for the work of the
ministry is something that should be in everyone’s venue!

University)
Financial Peace University is going to be a staple on
everyone’s course offerings! People are in financial trouble and it affects the
quality of life and ministry they experience. Every church leader knows that
their financial bondage also affects how well the local church operates. People
frozen in debt are frozen in ministry! Dave Ramsey has a great presentation of
financial principles that will work for anyone seriously wanting to get free
from debt and get functional in ministry!
These guys can redefine the idea and “do-ability” of
evangelism for the members of your group. This was the only time we have ever
done an evangelism class that grew over the period of the course. Highly
professional DVDs, exciting to watch, and life challenging…. Comfort and Cameron
have done a great service to the Body of Christ in an area that can sometimes
lack motivation and courage to witness!
We have used their video parables to emphasize points in
our message times. They are well done and a great compliment to you
presentations. They have an array of products available to pump up the level of
your communications.

Outreach specializes in print media. Their high quality,
ready-made mailers, invitation cards, etc., are real eye catchers. Personalize
some of their concept business-size two-fold cards and hand them out by the
dozens to your congregation. They’ll be proud to hand over a high quality
production piece to their friends.
These guys are great! They can put you in touch with
several edge ministries and have helpful articles in each issue to hone you up!
A subscription to this magazine is worth every dime!
We buy countdown “timers” from these guys and they help
create an expectant attitude in our gathering times. Check them out from time to
time to view new products! There’s a lot of creativity exploding out there!
All of us need to increase the entry points into our
churches! For too long we only had the front doors…and the world was not
flocking to them! Divorce Care is one of the best entry points we have opened to
our hurting community. Marriages are busting up everywhere leaving behind a lot
of human wreckage and suffering. Divorce Care is a way for them to be healed and
introduced to a life that brings wholeness!
