Stacy’s friends would say that she brings a
“can do,” “get it done” attitude to the table. She likes to
investigate the Word of God, taking difficult concepts and
conveying them with simplicity and relevancy. Incorporating
illustrations, props & multimedia when teaching helps Stacy
connect biblical truths with today’s culture and living. Simple,
applicable & direct! Whatever it takes to capture the hearts of
all people—generations and nations.
Stacy is an outdoorsy, sporty kind of girl.
World travel is her passion. She loves to experience new people
groups with all their culture, customs & foods. What is Stacy’s
life verse? That would have to be: “…they that know their God
will be strong and do exploits.” Wherever God calls, she will
go—have passport, will travel!
Stacy lives in Lake Jackson with her
fun-loving, servant-hearted, always on-the-go, engineer,
Excel-guru husband, Mike. He’s the smartest “big kid” you’ll
ever meet!
Background
Stacy gets her outdoorsy, sporty
personality from being a West Coast / Pacific Northwest girl.
She was born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised in
Southern Cal until the age of 10; that’s when her family moved
to Spokane, Washington. At the age of 16, when her parents were
divorcing, Stacy’s spirit-filled, public high school, basketball
coach invited her to church one fall night. That night in 1983,
Stacy received salvation and was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Her life was never the same!
After turning down several sports
scholarships, Stacy answered the call of God on her life and
attended Rhema Bible Training Center. As a missions student,
Stacy met Ralph and Shirley Hagemeier. Upon graduation in 1987,
she joined the Hagemeiers in Kalemie, Zaire (now The Democratic
Republic of the Congo). Stacy taught in the 3-year Bible
College, assisted with Children’s Church, managed the campus
book store, conducted seminars in the bush and became fluent in
Swahili. Stacy ministered in East Africa for over five and a
half years.
Stacy continued on in missions training at
North Central Bible College and in ministry by filling various
roles through the years, such as:
-
Office Manager/Assistant Intern
Director
Eastman Curtis Ministries
Lakeland, FL & Tulsa, OK
-
Single’s Pastor
First Church of the Open Bible
Spokane, WA
-
Bible College Teacher
Domata
Bilthoven, Holland
-
Itinerant Teacher
Open Door Enterprises
Sargent, TX.
Eventually, Stacy’s wanna be “techie/geek”
side rose up and she returned to college to pursue a certificate
in Micro Computers. This led to her current position as Content
Technician / Data Specialist at The Dow Chemical Company. Stacy
met Mike Collins at Dow and the two were married in 2002.
Mike and Stacy came to Life Foursquare
Church in September, 2005. They love helping out as Alpha & Beta
Leaders, outreach workers, Str8-Up teachers, Financial Class
Instructors, and even coaching the church softball team. But
more ardently than all – Stacy is excited to head up our newly
formed Missions Department. Stacy has traveled to or through 19
countries so far…more to come…wanna go?!
