Church
Ephesians 1:22-23 — And He put all things under
His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things
to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills
all in all.
Colossians 1:24 — I now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of
Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,
Ephesians 5:22-32 — Wives, submit to your own husbands,
as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also
Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let
the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church
and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her
with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her
to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any
such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So
husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he
who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own
flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does
the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of
His bones. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and
mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become
one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning
Christ and the church.
1 Timothy 3:15 — but if I am delayed, I write so
that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house
of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and
ground of the truth.
1 Corinthians 16:1-2 — Now concerning the collection for
the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia,
so you must do also: On the first day of the week let
each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may
prosper, that there be no collections when I come.
1 Corinthians 16:19 — The churches of Asia greet you.
Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the
church that is in their house.
1 Corinthians 4:17 — For this reason I have sent Timothy
to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will
remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every
church.
Romans 16:5 — Likewise greet the church that is in
their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits
of Achaia to Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:16-22 — But if anyone seems to be
contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches
of God. Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you,
since you come together not for the better but for the worse.
For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear
that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
For there must also be factions among you, that those who are
approved may be recognized among you. Therefore when you come
together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper. For
in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others;
and one is hungry and another is drunk. What! Do you not have
houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God
and shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall
I praise you in this? I do not praise you.
1 Corinthians 12:28 — And God has appointed these in the
church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after
that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations,
varieties of tongues.
2 Corinthians 11:8 — I robbed other churches, taking
wages from them to minister to you.
1 Timothy 5:16 — If any believing man or woman has
widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the church be
burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows.
James 5:14 — Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for
the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing
him with oil in the name of the Lord.
Acts 2:47 — praising God and having favor with all the
people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were
being saved.
Acts 11:25-26 — Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek
Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So
it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and
taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called
Christians in Antioch.
Acts 14:23 — So when they had appointed elders in every
church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord
in whom they had believed.
Acts 15:3-4 — So, being sent on their way by the church,
they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the
conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the
brethren. And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were
received by the church and the apostles and the elders; and they
reported all things that God had done with them.
Acts 16:5 — So the churches were strengthened in the
faith, and increased in number daily.
Acts 20:28 — Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all
the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers,
to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own
blood.
1 Corinthians 14:19 — yet in the church I would rather
speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others
also, than ten thousand words in a tongue. (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 14:28 — But if there is no interpreter, let
him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to
God. (NKJV)
