Proverbs 6:16-19 — These six things the
Lord hates, Yes,
seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying
tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises
wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false
witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among
brethren.
Proverbs 26:20 — Where there is no wood, the fire
goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife
ceases.
1 Peter 4:15 — But let none of you suffer as a murderer,
a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s
matters.
James 1:26 — If anyone among you thinks he is religious,
and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this
one’s religion is useless.
James 4:11-12 — Do not speak evil of one another,
brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his
brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you
judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There
is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you
to judge another?
Proverbs 20:19 — He who goes about as a talebearer
reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who
flatters with his lips.
Philippians 4:8 — Finally, brethren, whatever things are
true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are
just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are
lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there
is any virtue and if there is anything
praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Proverbs 11:13 — A talebearer reveals secrets, But he who
is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.
Proverbs 17:20 — He who has a deceitful heart finds no
good, And he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil.
