Law of God
Galatians 2:16-21 — knowing that a man is not justified
by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we
have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by
faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the
works of the law no flesh shall be justified. “But if, while we
seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found
sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly
not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make
myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law
that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it
is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the
grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law,
then Christ died in vain.”
Romans 3:19-20 — Now we know that whatever the law says,
it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be
stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in
His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Galatians 3:17-26 — And this I say, that the law,
which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the
covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it
should make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance
is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God
gave it to Abraham by promise. What purpose then does
the law serve? It was added because of transgressions,
till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and
it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.
Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but
God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God?
Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could
have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.
But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise
by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept
for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the
law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be
justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer
under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in
Christ Jesus.
James 2:10 — For whoever shall keep the whole law, and
yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
Romans 8:1-4 — There is therefore now no
condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk
according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law
of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the
law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it
was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He
condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of
the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to
the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Romans 10:4 — For Christ is the end of the law for
righteousness to everyone who believes.
1 Corinthians 6:12 — All things are lawful for me, but
all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I
will not be brought under the power of any.
Romans 6:14-15 — For sin shall not have dominion over
you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall
we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly
not!
Galatians 5:18 — But if you are led by the Spirit, you
are not under the law.
