Righteousness from Jesus
Romans 3:20-24 — Therefore by the deeds of the law no
flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is
the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God apart
from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the
Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus
Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no
difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus,
Romans 3:28 — Therefore we conclude that a man is
justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
1 John 1:9 — If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Philippians 3:9 — and be found in Him, not having my own
righteousness, which is from the law, but that which
is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from
God by faith;
Galatians 2:16 — knowing that a man is not justified by
the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have
believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in
Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the
law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:21 — I do not set aside the grace of God; for
if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died
in vain.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 — For He made Him who knew no sin
to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of
God in Him.
Romans 4:3 — For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham
believed God, and it was accounted to him for
righteousness.”
Romans 4:5-6 — But to him who does not work but believes
on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for
righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of
the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
Isaiah 64:6 — But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all
fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us
away.
Matthew 5:6 — Blessed are those who hunger and
thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Romans 3:10 — As it is written: “There is none
righteous, no, not one;
Romans 5:18-19 — Therefore, as through one man’s offense
judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even
so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to
all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s
disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s
obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 9:30-32 — What shall we say then? That Gentiles,
who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to
righteousness, even the righteousness of faith; but Israel,
pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law
of righteousness. Why? Because they did not seek it
by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they
stumbled at that stumbling stone.
Romans 10:10 — For with the heart one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
Galatians 5:12-6:2 — I could wish that those who trouble
you would even cut themselves off! For you, brethren, have been
called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an
opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this:
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you
bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one
another! I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not
fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the
Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary
to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now
the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred,
contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions,
dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries,
and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also
told you in time past, that those who practice such
things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no
law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh
with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us
also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking
one another, envying one another. Brethren, if a man is
overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore
such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest
you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill
the law of Christ.
