Sin
James 4:17 — Therefore, to him who knows to do good and
does not do it, to him it is sin.
1 John 5:17 — All unrighteousness is sin, and there is
sin not leading to death.
James 2:10 — For whoever shall keep the whole law, and
yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
Isaiah 59:2-3 — But your iniquities have separated you
from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from
you, So that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with
blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken
lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.
Ezekiel 18:20 — The soul who sins shall die. The son
shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the
guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be
upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon
himself.
Ezekiel 18:21-23 — “But if a wicked man turns from all
his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does
what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not
die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be
remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he
has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the
wicked should die?” says the Lord
God, “and
not that he should turn from his ways and live?
Ezekiel 18:32 — For I have no pleasure in the death of
one who dies,” says the Lord
God. “Therefore
turn and live!”
Romans 6:23 — For the wages of sin is death, but
the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Proverbs 28:13 — He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
Romans 3:20-24 — Therefore by the deeds of the law no
flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is
the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God apart
from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the
Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus
Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no
difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption
that is in Christ Jesus,
Romans 14:23 — But he who doubts is condemned if he eats,
because he does not eat from faith; for whatever
is not from faith is sin.
Micah 7:19 — He will again have compassion on us, And
will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the
depths of the sea.
1 Corinthians 15:56 — The sting of death is sin,
and the strength of sin is the law.
1 Peter 2:24 — who Himself bore our sins in His own body
on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for
righteousness— by whose stripes you were healed.
Romans 6:20-23 — For when you were slaves of sin, you
were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have
then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of
those things is death. But now having been set free from
sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to
holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin
is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 John 3:3-10 — And everyone who has this hope in Him
purifies himself, just as He is pure. Whoever commits sin also
commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that
He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no
sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has
neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one
deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just
as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil
has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God
was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains
in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In
this the children of God and the children of the devil are
manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God,
nor is he who does not love his brother.
