Work
Genesis 2:15 — Then the
Lord God took the
man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 — that you also aspire to lead a
quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own
hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward
those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
2 Thessalonians 3:7-15 — For you yourselves know how you
ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; nor
did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor
and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of
you, not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves
an example of how you should follow us. For even when we were
with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work,
neither shall he eat. For we hear that there are some who walk
among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are
busybodies. Now those who are such we command and exhort through
our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their
own bread. But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary
in doing good. And if anyone does not obey our word in this
epistle, note that person and do not keep company with him, that
he may be ashamed. Yet do not count him as an enemy, but
admonish him as a brother.
1 Timothy 5:8 — But if anyone does not provide for his
own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied
the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Colossians 3:23-24 — And whatever you do, do it heartily,
as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you
will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the
Lord Christ.
Exodus 34:21 — “Six days you shall work, but on the
seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you
shall rest.
Exodus 36:1 — “And Bezalel and Aholiab, and every gifted
artisan in whom the Lord
has put wisdom and understanding, to know how to do all manner
of work for the service of the sanctuary, shall do according to
all that the Lord
has commanded.”
Proverbs 12:27 — The lazy man does not roast what
he took in hunting, But diligence is man’s precious
possession.
Proverbs 18:9 — He who is slothful in his work Is a
brother to him who is a great destroyer.
